What form of martial arts (self defense)?

I am recovering from a broken ankle that I walk on just fine but when I jump up and down hard it still hurts What form of martial arts (self defense) could I enroll in that I wouldn't do that much kicking .. People have always told me that I have very strong chi. I have always been interested .Any help out there?

What form of martial arts (self defense)?
Aikido - its all about ki/chi, and no kicks
Reply:What I recommend is "tai-chi". It trains your inner energy, and trains the form of your technique. It is a "soft" martial arts, and it dramatically increases your concentration, and also increase your oxygen intake levels. Train in this martial arts when you are healing, and once you come back to "hard" martial arts, you will see that you dramatically increased in technique accuracy, and endurance.
Reply:I'll really just let the ankle heal completely first. You might end up hurting it again or more and setting you back. All forms of martial arts require your ankles, legs, etc. I would suggest toning up your body first. Get some pounds of solid muscle on your body because it sounds like you're just beginning in martial arts training.
Reply:I know it sucks, but heal up before you think about getting into or back into martial arts. I had to take a month off because I had my wisdom teeth surgically removed and that sucked.

Be patient its part of discipline.
Reply:dont know...get a concealed carry permit.. You can fire a gun with a hurt ankle.
