I am looking for personal guidance in martial arts, not really into clubs as I don't have time to go several times a week. However some instructors are wanting me to pay £30-£35 per lesson and not being very flexible with their times. I think they are more like businesses than instructors you know??!
Do any of you know where I might find a good instructor in Birmingham. I would pay £15, maybe £20 for a lesson if he or she were really good. I think it is fair because i could spend it on drink / smoking but think my fitness and health

Rachel-Louise, I was in the same position as you, needing a good instructor who focused on ME - not just the business side of things. Lucky I found one! if you really interested in working hard, regular and looking to achieve good results I cannot recommend
my sifu (instructor) highly enough. He has flexible teaching times, and charges start from £10 per lesson
depending on the lesson length you want. I am one of his regular students and he does'nt teach many
as he just wants a core group to work to. He has a website http://www.121martialarts.com and teaches
tai chi, kung fu and karate. Busy man and really well qualified as his masters are in China and Japan.
I wanted to train with him more than once a week but he only agreed this with me after several years training
with him, he only teaches beginners a max of 1 hour because the lessons really are intense and have loads packed in to
them. A real gentleman too, although I would'nt wanna cross him !! You'll spend the same amount

Reply:depends on your needs in so far as what style,system you require to train in . i recommend systema with Nick-De-Paula,decent guy ,good instructor . contact through ermaa tel01562822263. i have been on several courses with this guy and he is a good martial artist and a very genuine person.
