Is there a good Martial Arts film with a good story...........?

Im talking true Martial Arts films here, not Rush Hour or the like.

I have many jackie Chan films %26amp; some Bruce Lee's %26amp; all are great but ive only bought them for the action as the storylines SUCK.

I dont mind that much but was wondering if there actually is a good Martial Atrs film with a good story. ?

Ong-Bak, and the Martial Arts expert does all his own stunts.

As martial arts films go, this is one of the better ones :-)
Reply:No, they all suck!
Reply:almost anything with Jet li is pretty good i think. just saw fearless.... thought it was great. just go to imdb.com and type in Jet Li. or theres things like crouching tiger hidden dragon, house of flying daggers... things like that.... they never bore me. same thing here.... just go to imdb.... type in one of these movies.... and just click on one of the actors names.... sure itll bring up some good ones.
Reply:Try "drunken master" Reasonable story %26amp; funny!
Reply:The Touch, starring Michelle Yeoh.

I personally like it alot and I watched it 3 times.
Reply:Kung Fu Hustle is pretty good. Not sure if it's a true martial arts film though.
Reply:I watched House of Flying Daggers last night. The plots ok, the fight

parts and choreography are incredible. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is good too.

The Karate Kid is king though, 'cause it's got Mr Miagi.
Reply:I have always considered 'Enter the Dragon' the best of the Bruce Lee films. Also I saw one of his films in Paris a long time ago think it was called the Green something.and as I recall was a send-up of Batman type superheroes.

You can also get DVDs of the old TV series The Water Margins. The special effects are dated but still a very enjoyable version of the Chinese classic book. Romanticised outlaws similar to Robin Hood

The 'Monkey' series is also available and is more humorous. Irrepressible describes Monkey very well.
Reply:(#Choke cough splutter#) CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON???
Reply:A bittersweet life, its not really a martial arts film strictly speaking though, most of em have no story line or are just plain silly
Reply:Please try "Paque de Loup" it is

a French movie,

but very special... Aaron.
Reply:Well I did see one called hong fooy tong Wong.

Storeys starts off 1 man surrounded by 60 men, he does a back somersault up into the tree, 60 ft high as well.

they all lob bricks at him, he jumps down amazingly takes out 10 men, one man approaches from behind and wacks him in the nuts as hard as he could, Chinese man shakes his head sweating profusely. Jumps in the air and does a 180 % turn this time taking out 20 men trying to catch up here, subtitles are a little behind.

Then he does a handspring continuously in a circle taking out every man in his way, all are trying to attack him but they keeps missing, sound affects are amazing, wahhhhh, huhhhhhhh.uhhhhhhhka ching.

There only one men still alive.

Him vs the master, he pulls out a gun and shoots him, none of this fooy wooy karate chopping.

House of Flying Daggers - utterly beautiful with great fight scenes.

Crouching Tiger of course.

Hard Boiled isn't bad either and Bangkok Dangerous is okay but the above three are the best of the lot, enjoy!
