Why mixed gender martial arts tournaments r not held?

we all see that girls are demanding equal rights with boys in every place. now they have even enter the field of martial arts %26amp; they have started posing a challenge to dominance of boys in this field also. personally i feel that girls can outplay boys in every sphere of life except those things which require bodily strength %26amp; martial arts is one of them . so if girls are competeting face to face with boys in each %26amp; every field then why not face boys face to face in this field also.so for this in my opinion mixed gender martial arts tournaments shud take place.

Why mixed gender martial arts tournaments r not held?
No need to be so insecure man......girls are entitled to martial arts...i dont think they are sitting around in a room all at once goin hey how can i take something else away from men? Just relax.....martial arts are for everyone to enjoy and to reap the benifits of. Mixed gender tournaments why not!. If the men are comfortable with it and if the women feel up to the task i say let them at it.
Reply:im 14 and DEFEAT many MEN in my dojo its a question of endurance and skill more than body stength[so dont question any women in martial arts, because we can kill]. The only thing is many people[especially parents dont like women facing men]
Reply:Again, when men get a hold on the women wrestlers, they may not want to release them. They will enjoy instead of the audience.
Reply:I've seen this done a lot. I have a student who at 14 years old could drop boys who outweighed her by 20 pounds on their heads in sparring. And I have adult women and little girls who can take boys their size in MMA all the time.

Now, this is just in class. At the elite level, like the UFC or something, the guys would wipe the floor with the girls. I know that's not PC to say, but there it is. We're talking guys who are elite fighters. A girl would have to outdo him so much in skill to make up for the mismatch in strength, speed and toughness.

But for karate tournaments, mixed gender events can and do occur. Happens all the time. The girls seem to be at a disadvantage in some cases, but a lot of times they do great, and more power to them.

Your writing is so unclear that you seem to be saying martial arts is one of the things which requires bodily strength, so women can't outplay boys there.

In that case, why do you want mixed gender tourneys?

For the record, I was in a tourney last week and other than sparring, it was mixed gender.
Reply:As far as point tournaments there are PLENTY of women who can dominate their weight class in a mixed gender event, but MMA is very different. I am not taking away an ounce from the women that bust their butts to train, because I know for a fact that there are thousands of guys that they could mop the floor with.

The difference occurs when you hit the upper tiered fighters, and that is where a very distinct line is drawn. I am the furthest thing from being sexist, but it would take one hell of a woman to take out an elite male fighter in her weight class. Also from my experience, women do not often cut weight in the sense that men do, so a match at say 135 might really be a 135 lb woman vs a guy who cut from 150.
Reply:My girl students perform at the same level as my boy students, but tournaments are a form of sport, with rules. (Not real karate, but rule based sport)

Rules will always benefit someone who has longer arms, and boys normally have longer arms than girls. While you may get a hit on one of my girl students on the street, she's going to be inside your guard with one hand tearing your groin out and the other knife-handing your trachea quicker than you can get a second. While you may have gotten a "point" in tournament and won. In karate, she would have won.

(I'm assuming that if it was a matter of "street" combat, you, a well trained martial artist, wouldn't have attacked a girl anyway)
Reply:Well until they can bring together sports like gold and tennis dont be holding your breath for martial arts
Reply:it is a liability issue, women want equal rights until it's something that doesn't benifit them like picking up the tab on a date or holding the door open for a guy. Sure they can do those things but then they go and complain about how worthless their guy friend is. An for the 14 year old girl who said she defeats guys all the time in her dojo, first your 14 in a fight you would not stand a chance, granted you might be good or even great at what you do, but thats all you do, You could be taken down a someone could rein elbows and knees to your pretty little face. I am in no way being sexcist. Women can do almost anything guys can do. and guys can do almost anything girls can do. But in a mixed martial arts fight if I take any fighter in the ufc or any other org. with a women of the same weight 10 out of 10 times the man will win. It has to do with power. men have more of it than women, she might be more technical and know more about what she is doing, but a man will just over power and bring her into his world.
Reply:its a sport, there are rules in sports. also the sponsors and persons in charge or the tournaments might not be allowed for insurance reasons. its nothing to do with fairness, i know lots of women that can take out any guy. also with so many men and so many women in these tournaments, they need to split it up some how, just like how they do with age. the tournaments i go to are split up 6-7, 8-9, 10-12....yrs old age groups and in men and women and in beg, inter, adv, and black belt divisions. without splitting up the divisions there would be toooooo much competition and not much fun. Tournaments are a showcase of personal abilities compared to fellow peers abilities but in a fun environment. I'm sure if you set up an invitational tournament with a few amount of people allowed you could have a co-ed fighting division, otherwise though it too much hassle and not much fun.
Reply:Hello, First of all i would just like to say...I am a martial arts expert. I got my black belt at 9 years old..( I am a 32 now though) my two bros were 7 years old ..when they got there black belt..I use to instruct and compete for the UK....Please (and don't take this the wrong way) where are women starting to dominate men I'm martial arts...in fact tell me any sport where women are dominating...and just to let you know every sport needs body strength (hence the muscle training you do in the sports)...This feminist ideology is starting to get crazy now....Girls seem to watch films and actually believe a 120lb woman is beating up a trained 250lb man...and even the men are starting to believe this as well....I will honestly tell you this as an expert it is silly to have a trained mma man fight a trained mma women..purely because of power and speed and strength......if anybody else says anything different then they are being PC...Technique is also a major point in any sport the reason i left that out is because men generally have a better technique to start with...There are some fantastic women fighters or athletes out there i would never say otherwise because it would be ignorant of me..
Reply:Hello, Myself Piyush Maitrey from Delhi.I strongly condemed

mix gender compettitions of martial arts.Because they leadmay lead to controverial situations.Suppose If a girl brutually

defeats a boy in fight then he never takes this in a sportsman spirit He feels insulted. Moreover his friends and his relatives tease him that he is not a man. This kind of situation makes him windictive in attitude towards that girl or any girl. This thinking if not checked can lead to very serious problem. On the other hand It is also against our Indian Culture. We belong to land of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna Our Religious Books teach us to respect women not to fight with them.Once I am also want to learn Karrate but when my coach says me that I may have to fight with a girl at that moment I drop the Idea.Dear friends If your true male then always remmeber man is meant for the protection of women not for hearting them Its a crime and may lead to crime if the male is egoistic.

And Don't get afraid If you ever see a girl doing martial arts because when a true man(Who never hits a women) fight with women in extreme situations or in great anger then no women in the world beat him.I am not saying this because I am male and little bit egoistic(I accept it honestly). But it is true believe.Because nature makes man very much stronger than women then How Can we break Nature's Law?.But If we misuse our muscle power then definatley we get ruined brutally by any girl.Whether she knows Karrate or not because truthful person always win at the end this another law of nature.I belive in nature and I extremly love God(The Superpower)
