I need help with martial arts!quick?

i want to do martial arts.im not exactly sure how though.i've thought of being a ninja, capoeria, and parkour(if parkour is martial arts).well, before my birth day i would like to learn martial arts, but i dont know where to start. I want to be able to use self-defense,but in no way do i want to learn karate! And having a weapon to use (later when i master whatever i decide on)wouldn't hurt.my birthday is in august on the 27th.

so to sum it all up im looking for a martial art that will teach me self defense, flips would be nice, and a weapon of some sort.

my birthday is just a deadline

I need help with martial arts!quick?
First, you're never going to learn a martial art in 6 months. Martial arts aren't a class you take and pass some final. Martial arts is a lifetime study for the diligent. If you're looking for self defense, I'd recommend (as was stated by another answer) Muay Thai kickboxing and Jiu Jitsu, either feudal Japanese or Brazilian. Judo is really neat and flashy to watch; but, it's tough to defend yourself by just throwing your attacker around. Capoeira is really a form of dance, with the idea of combat. It's really cool to watch and it does have a disorienting effect on an attacker; just lacks really defensive form. Muay Thai kickboxing pretty much covers your bases from the feet. It uses alot of short, powerful attacks that can seriously debilitate anyone who intends you harm. Jiu Jitsu is really great for being able to non-lethally escape a situation where you're being pinned under a larger attacker. The application of "The Guard" position is unparalleled as a feminine self defense necessity. Good luck!
Reply:sign up at a karate center ATA if you have one i take it at the one where i live.
Reply:Why no Karate? There are styles that use weapons, and it teaches you to defend yourself, so why are you opposed to it? The style I take is Shotokan, but we don't use weapons, we're taught that hands and feet are like knives if you use them right. So, yeah, I'm really curious about why you don't want to learn Karate.
Reply:Flips are NOT self-defense. If you want self-defense, you should see if the police in your area are offering a training course. Otherwise, you should look for a martial art called Krav Maga.

Other than that, I recommend Muay thai and Brazilian jiu jitsu. These are effective martial arts for defending yourself, but aren't too keen on flipping or weapons.

Hope this helps.
Reply:The fastest way to learn to fight is boxing, how ever, if you're wanting to learn something pretty with all the flipping and what not then capoeria is the way to go. TKD also has some of the acrobatics, and weapons training. Now ask yourself do you want self defense or pretty? Pretty may not help you in a real fight so keep that in mind. If you want practical try MMA.
Reply:why such a deadline?
Reply:You can take a look at Dekiti Tirsia Siradas. It is great with weapons. Just click the link below.
Reply:try our site, kuk sool won of widnes. There are some videos on there that show how we train, it includes all you want and more. There will be a gym by yours somewhere what do it. Enjoy :)

Lord odd, flips are self defence, how do you think you escape projection throws, or land safely when being hip thrown? Flips play a big part in self defence, one who does not practice this is not a complete martial artist!
